In 2018, an estimated 1 in 9 Americans were food insecure, equating to over 37 million Americans, including more than 11 million children.
PubCorps launched on September 15, 2019, bringing together over 500 volunteers to service. We joyfully packaged over 108,000 meals in 3.5 hours. Each volunteer was responsible for feeding 218 hungry people in the time it takes to watch a football game.
Over the next 12 months PubCorps plans on packing 2 million meals for hungry kids in WNC. This will make Asheville, and PubCorps, one of the most impactful hunger awareness programs per capita for a metropolitan area anywhere in the world.
